HELP ME
Hey everyone, yesterday something went wrong—I accidentally downloaded a virus. It started with lots of pop-ups that made it hard to see, and I couldn’t install any protection software because the virus blocked everything. My internet was limited to just a few sites like Google and YouTube. After rebooting in safe mode, I used several antivirus tools to clean up the infection. I removed all unfamiliar programs from July 4th, 2016, and after restarting, my PC worked normally except for a strange silence in some games. When I played CS:GO, no sound came through at all. Other titles like Hotline Miami, Subnautica, Dead by Daylight, Metro 2033 Redux, and DOOM (new version) also had no audio. I checked the settings, switched to headphones, and even reinstalled OpenAL, but nothing changed. I’m really hoping someone can help me figure this out.
Great news about removing the virus! Following @Cela1's advice, make sure to reinstall the sound drivers for your motherboard.
