your setup includes an intel core i5 2500k with 3.3 ghz and a gtx 1060 3gb, which you're using for playing r6s. you're experiencing low fps consistently, averaging around 90, and sometimes dropping to 50. it seems the performance isn't meeting expectations, so upgrading might be necessary or there could be other factors affecting it.

Adjust your PC's power plan to high performance and observe the results. Determine the settings and resolution at which you run R6S. Also, share your budget for any possible upgrades. Be more detailed! Don't assume a good answer without putting in the effort to ask a clear question. And remember to tag me @r2724r16 if you'd like me to see your response.

50-90 is acceptable if you're using a 60hz monitor, right? What are you checking for?

Rainbow 6 isn't the ideal match for an i5. It might be worth looking into an i7 from eBay, as you seem to be facing a performance limitation.

I use the low setting, but when I switch it to very high it doesn't make much difference and I already have the PC's power plan set to high performance.

Uncertain about the reason, but it's a 6-year-old quad-core device running a modern game with up to 8 cores

The suggested standards are practically meaningless. Always.
