Hey guys, so I've recently upgraded my pc to amd ryzen so I upgraded ram, cpu and mobo and all my othe parts are the same. So I used to have windows 10 on SSD and when I started pc I installed Ubuntu then it deleted all files on SSD and I've researched and found out that you can get windows 10 on your new pc by contacting Microsoft and if you deleted the files. Is this true? Can I get windows 10 back?

You need to reinstall Windows. Your system should display a Windows key, then download the Windows 10 media creation kit on another device and transfer it via USB or DVD. Reinstalling Windows will overwrite everything on the same drive—Ubuntu would have warned you about permanent data loss if you formatted it for Ubuntu instead. Microsoft can't recover your files, but they may restore your original Windows installation by sending a DVD or USB with a paid copy. Take your time, stay informed, and do your research to prevent similar issues later.

Unless you configure a dual boot setup, it doesn't seem to fit this scenario.

Check if you used a Microsoft account for previous login. If yes, proceed to step A2. Otherwise, go to C2. Step A2: Verify if Windows was run after the upgrade. If successful and no activation issues, move to A3. If not, or encounter activation problems, go to B2. Step A3: Reinstall Windows via Media Creation Tool on another PC with an 8GB+ USB drive. Step A4: Sign in using your Microsoft account; this will activate automatically. You're finished. Step B2: Repeat reinstallation process with the same requirements. Step B3: Attempt login with Microsoft account or key if you previously had a Windows 10 Key. Successful activation means completion. Step B4: Follow KB20530 instructions. If needed, reach out to Microsoft via chat for support. It’s best to keep your activation tied to your Microsoft account as a digital permission.

That's correct... I meant partition, but made it simpler.

Lemmie resolved that issue for you. You can't run two operating systems on the same disk partition—Ubuntu would have alerted you that formatting it for Ubuntu would erase all files on that partition.

You should be able to use your Windows 10 product key if you have the sticker, unless you upgraded to Windows 10 for free. If it doesn’t work, contacting Microsoft might help, though there’s no guarantee. If neither option works, you’re still eligible to get Windows 10 legally through their accessibility program.
