My build plan resembles a Ryzen 5 3500X or possibly 2600X setup. I’m aiming for 3600/3600x, though prices have risen. A 3500X costs around $200, 3600 about $300, and 3600x near $400. I’m considering Gigabyte B450M Gaming before opting for ASRock B450M-HDV. Someone recommends Gigabyte for better VRAM performance. I’m torn between ZOTAC GAMING GTX 1660 6GB GDDR5 and sticking with 1060 6GB/1650s/1660/1660s at 1080p. I’m unsure which brand to pick. Seasonic S12II-450 EVO 450W is still in mind, but I’m not sure about the PSU. Cooler Master Hyper 212 LED looks good for the case now—it’s this one—and I’ll use it mainly for games. See more here: [link] and [another link].

Hello, 3600 is preferable, 3600x doesn't make sense. MSI B450 MAX Tomahawk, Gaming plus or A-Pro. Seek the lowest price on 3200/3600 available. 1660S from any manufacturer with dual/triple fans works well. It's outdated now, consider Corsair CX or CXM. Not essential, I recommend an Arctic 34 eSport Duo. http://cubegaming.id/?p=881 This model features a front mesh for better airflow.

maybe I can hit 3600. If not due to budget, should I go with 3500x or 2600x? For a B450 max Tomahawk around 200$, MSI B450M gaming plus about 150$, and A-PRO 10$ more than gaming plus CX 450? It’s good? I already have Corsair VX 550 on my old PC, but I’m not sure if the cable is enough. The cable is short—Arctic 34 Esport Duo costs 54$, and the cooler is half price.

2600 NOT x, 3500 doesn't have HT and 2600x doesn't make sense either. Choose the B450 Gaming Plus ATX, not the mATX version. CX works well, but VX/VS isn't ideal now. The 212 isn't a better upgrade than the included CPU cooler.

Why would 2600x seem odd when it’s actually a bit quicker? It might just be a mismatch in expectations. The stock cooler works fine, and you’re not overclocking, so it makes sense. For the Deepcool Gamma X 400, it’s a solid choice if you’re considering a cooler upgrade.

You wanted to purchase a different cooler, but the 2600 isn’t the best choice. If you’re not planning to buy another one, the 2600x is a better option.

I understand. I added the cooler since I purchase 3500 units when I buy 2600, so I won’t need it anymore. Appreciate the assistance!
