Hey there! I have a few points to discuss. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) I’m expecting my PC to be paid at the end of the month. That’s it.

I’m looking at the PCPartPicker list and need some guidance. I want to get my system updated with an optimized version of Windows 10 LTSC, but the build I have is v1809, build 17763.437. Should I go with the 1903 version instead? Do you think that’s the right choice? If yes, which one would you suggest—Windows Home or Pro? Thanks.

Driver issues are on my mind now. My motherboard is the ASUS PRIME X570-PRO ATX AM4, and I’m thinking about flashing it unless there’s a newer BIOS update available. If not, should I proceed?

The graphics card driver seems fine. Everything looks correct so far.

Next up: storage. I need to install the following items from the list:
- AMD Chipset Drivers Revision 1.07.29.0115 (50.8 MB)
- AMD RAID Installer (SATA, NVMe RAID) Revision 9.2.0.127 (267 MB)
- AMD RAID Driver (SATA, NVMe RAID) Revision 9.2.0.127 (1.26 MB)
- AMD StoreMI Technology Revision 1.5.0.21578 (75.9 MB)
- LAN Driver 12.18.8.22 (2.57 MB)
- Intel Gigabit Ethernet Driver (65.38 MB)

Total comes to $2063.14 before rebates. After applying mail-in rebates of $30, the final amount is $2033.14.

Mail-in rebates are $30.00.

I’m still unsure about the Windows version to install. I remember my last PC being from 2008/2009, so I’m not very familiar with the latest updates. Should I install the one from ASUS instead?

Audio driver 6.0.1.8666 is needed for sound, even if I use an external card. LAN driver 12.18.8.22 is essential for internet connectivity—without it, I’d struggle.

I’m also considering downloading the chipset drivers from AMD or ASUS. Which one should I pick?

Thanks again for your help and patience! This community is really helpful. Take care.

Only the chipset, audio, and LAN components are required. Often, drivers for Windows are installed automatically with updates. The enterprise edition of Windows is necessary for long-term support, but it's not suitable for consumers.

I skip all ASUS products and go with AMD instead, making sure to flash the motherboard first. I only grab audio and LAN from the ASUS site, and for everything else I use the AMD site.

I favor Mobos' versions of drivers. Mostly because they have been tested and confirmed by Mobos.

The Mobo driver comes from the official ASUS website. It’s possible the motherboard will already be updated, so you’ll be up to speed soon...

If you don’t plan to use software-based RAID, you won’t need any RAID setup.

It's okay to ask many questions, but I appreciate you wanting to do things right.

I don't believe that's the meaning you're suggesting.
