I've just started using computers, and I'm facing an issue with my Lenovo m900 SFF. I want to upgrade its TFX PSU to an ATX model because ATX supports higher voltage, which would allow me to add a dedicated GPU. Will this affect my Lenovo motherboard?

If you have a SFF Lenovo system with a TFX power supply, you cannot PUT an ATX power supply into that case. It will not fit. And there is a very good chance that your supposedly TFX power supply MIGHT be proprietary as well. Even if it isn't, you can't put an ATX PSU into a SFF case.

It's highly probable these motherboard and power supply are using OEM exclusive connections.
Even if an ATX PSU were added, compatibility with this motherboard would remain an issue.
The most sensible approach to improve the setup is to retain only the components that could be useful and construct a new system in a proper ATX case with a standard power supply and motherboard.

The M900 SFF model is available in various dimensions. This could affect the graphics card options you can install. Would you like to know your current setup?
ThinkCentre M900 SFF Desktop | Powerful, Space-Saving, Enterprise Desktop | Lenovo Israel
Discover more about the ThinkCentre 900 Small Form Factor desktop, a robust and compact enterprise system.
www.lenovo.com
For tower models, it includes a PSU delivering up to 400w that supports a strong graphics card.
Lenovo generally relies on standard components.

I don't believe he has the tower type because he explicitly mentions having the SFF M900, which only provides a 210w power supply and rules out ATX units. This means even without concerns about proprietary connections, they’ll remain restricted to a TFX form factor power supply. That's why opting for SFF OEM prebuilt systems isn't wise if you're considering upgrading later.

Yeah, motherboard prices for 6th/7th gen are a little crazy, plus the used parts risk.
Overkill, and a bit pricey at $60, but they seem to have the box, which is usually a good sign.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/285593454410
So you would be looking at around $200 if you kept the CPU, memory, and storage from the Lenovo.
