I have a 2003 HP Pavilion zx5000 with Windows XP Professional. It started booting but displayed a blue screen recently. I’ve noticed similar issues before and learned to overlook them. This time it crashed with an error about lsass.exe. I tried safe mode and inserted the XP disk, but the optical drive didn’t recognize it. Can you suggest a way to transfer my disk to a USB flash drive? Thanks! This isn’t my everyday laptop—I own some old games from that era and it holds sentimental value. 58743266389__BB218AE6-AA78-42F9-A93F-F4AF5AD76459.MOV
Are you referring to an installer CD or HDD? You can link a HDD to your desktop via an IDE-to-USB adapter (or SATA-to-USB if the laptop is recent enough). With an installer, you can use an ISO ripper such as UltraISO and then create a bootable USB with Rufus. For laptops, the BIOS must allow booting from USB drives for this to function.
