I don't know much about the Netgear GS105E, but you might want to check if your modem is properly connected and configured. Also, ensure the router is powered on and the network settings match what your PC expects. If the issue persists, there could be a compatibility problem with your device or settings.
Modem connects to Router, which is linked to Netgear switch. Issue detected?
Use one of the LAN ports instead of the WAN port when linking from your Wi-Fi routers to the switch. Also, make sure DHCP is turned off on the Wi-Fi routers, since it might already be active on your modem.
The modem serves both functions, providing internet access and routing data within your network.
Alternatively: Connect modem to Wi-Fi router via WAN port, then link the router to a PC. If additional ports are needed, route them through a switch and PC.
Google states the ARRIS TM1602 functions as a modem. Connect a router first, then link other devices. Modem connects to router (using available LAN ports). Next, use a Netgear switch for additional endpoints. Finally, connect to your Netgear AP.
We used a DWG875-X model with four Ethernet ports that connected smoothly to Wi-Fi routers and switches. Our ISP required a new modem, but it didn’t resolve the issue. After installing a new modem, we tested it with both routers—PC worked fine—but it would fail within a few days. We also tried a setup using the modem and a Netgear switch, which worked on the PC but not on the routers.
Checked online and seems to require a wired router between the modem and the wired router, then connect to wireless or PC/switch.
