At 1080p around 6700 xt or possibly 3070. At 1440p likely 6800 xt or 3080—probably 3070 at 1440p—but remember neither of the 30 series cards works well with a 500w PSU.

No, it shouldn't be that way. If it is, I'd consider undervolting or overclocking. Also, the 6700 XT is a solid choice for 1440p.

The RX 6800XT and RTX 3080 don’t match the performance of the 6700 3070 or 6500 at 1440p. The 500W power supply seems sufficient for the 6700 3070, but not enough for the 6500 at higher resolutions.
