HELP!!
I've been looking to upgrade my CPU for a while now. Some games mentioned I have an unsupported one, but last year I bought a budget graphics card—my MSI Radeon RX 570. They said it was decent and that my CPU is limiting performance. I'm trying to stay within a budget. I've checked around and think an i3 core 8100 would be a good fit. I also need help finding a motherboard that supports both the graphics card and the CPU I want. Any ideas? I really need assistance!
If cost matters, I’d explore the AMD Ryzen CPU range. The Ryzen 5 1600 AF is a favored choice for budget builders at around $85 new. Pairing it with an H310 motherboard such as the Asus PRIME H310M-E R2.0 or newer should be compatible with an i3-8100 and an RX 570.
I’m not sure about a specific model, but I can suggest compatible motherboards for your Ryzen processor. Let me know if you’d like options!
You're interested in an AMD motherboard from the B450 chipset lineup. You might also consider an A320 board if you plan to run the Ryzen 5 1600 AF and update its BIOS. If you're unsure about BIOS updates, opting for a B450 model is a more secure option. The most affordable boards I've found in the US are the ASRock B450M-HDV R4.0 and Gigabyte GA-A320M-S2H, both supporting AMD Ryzen CPUs. A motherboard with at least one standard expansion slot will work with any graphics card. If you have specific requirements, I can suggest alternatives or guide you through PCPartPicker. Also, remember to get DDR4 RAM for either Intel or AMD systems—G.Skill Aegis offers good budget options with various configurations. AMD processors generally benefit from faster memory, though this isn't a must for budget builds. Any DDR4 kit will work fine.
