Hello, I have a brief inquiry.
My PSU is the Forton hexa+400W.
I'm wondering if it's possible to overclock my AMD FX6300 CPU?
Other details: GTX 960 with 2 GB VRAM, 8 GB RAM, ASRock 960G-MV3 FX, and a Coolermaster Evo 212 cooler.
Thank you.

You might be able to use that unit, since it's not a bad one, but unless you recently purchased it as new, it's likely from around 3 to 4 years ago and wasn't originally a top-tier power supply. It's possible you'll attempt to overclock it and notice signs of failure eventually.

Additionally, the motherboard simply isn't of sufficient quality to support stable overclocking for any CPU. Even if the VRMs allow it, achieving a stable overclock on a six-core FX chip—or any CPU—on that board would be highly unreliable.

I wouldn't make any changes to that board, it's really lacking in thermal and power phase design.

The board might be misleading because it's marketed as a gaming model with an X-boost feature, acting like an automatic overclock by pressing a button during startup. I purchased it about a year ago.

The gaming label serves as a marketing trick, and you're correct about that.

Any business has the freedom to express anything about their product. This doesn't guarantee accuracy, and even if it does, it doesn't confirm effectiveness.
