Hello! I'm working on setting up a PC for my partner and facing some challenges installing Windows 10 onto an SSD. The system specs are: Ryzen 7 1700, ASUS Prime X370-Pro, 16 GB (2x16) Corsair Vengeance DDR4 RAM, MSI Aero ITX Radeon 560 4Gb, Seagate Barracuda 500 GB SSD, and Corsair TX750W power supply. Issue: The Windows installer keeps restarting or crashing during setup. The video explains what’s happening, but no matter the method I try, it always hits a point where the Windows logo appears above the loading screen and then the PC restarts. If it doesn’t restart, everything freezes—keyboard and mouse shut down, monitor loses signal even though the PC stays on. I’m really stuck and would love some guidance. Thank you! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vl7YcsY38qw

This suggests the setup is incorrect. Windows doesn't fail randomly—it's not an outdated version. Inspect all connections, memory (preferably a single stick), BIOS configurations (especially OC and XMP settings).

Did you opt for the media creation tool or try some unusual third-party installer? If you use the tool, it’s a solid choice—free to download and provided by Microsoft, so it should function properly. (P.S. For booting with the tool, ensure your PC has at least 8GB on the C drive; otherwise the setup might fail.)

Ah, I see. The flash drive is a 64 GB SanDisk. I created the installer using Microsoft's Windows Media Creation Tool. Tested RAM by swapping in RAM sticks from my partner’s build and it still doesn’t work, so it’s not the memory issue. I’ve checked all USB ports on her PC and got the same problem. Her CPU is running smoothly around 40°C. I double-checked the boot sequence and everything seems correct. The system boots fine in BIOS but crashes right when I try to start from the flash drive—loading screen freezes, keyboard and mouse disappear, and visual output cuts out suddenly. Someone suggested a power supply issue, but the machine keeps running.

Set up Windows on the second machine first, then move the drive. This allows you to access system tools for checking hardware issues.
