I don't believe I've ever changed my GPU BIOS settings. Where should I look for updates? - what are your thoughts on this? I'm checking online and it seems like this is the current situation. Since sunday, things have deteriorated. The CPU temps have risen unusually high, my GPU is working much slower than before (to the point where I’m seeing around 10 frames per second constantly), and I suspect it’s related to power usage. Is there a way to fix this without a full system reinstall? I've owned this device for nearly two years now and I likely won’t be able to recreate all my app configurations and data. If that's the only option, then I’ll consider giving up. But are there any solutions that don’t require a clean install? Edit: I’m now experiencing stutters in several programs—they freeze for 3–5 seconds before returning to normal.

Today felt unusual. GPU performance was more consistent, though it still fluctuated within about twenty minutes. My CPU, however, hit a new high temperature record—100°C. GPU temps stayed between 10-15°C, which seems promising as it ran better than before. I’m concerned about my CPU since it’s consistently reaching around 80°C just from opening Chrome and typing this. The main issue right now is power usage. While playing CoD, the performance graph displayed Power, but the Power Temp never spiked much. I’m currently idle while writing this, which is a positive change. Perhaps I applied too little thermal paste? My laptop’s CPU looks distinct from typical models, so I only used paste on the silver bump. The paste brand was Thermal Grizzy Kryonaut. Could you help with backing up my 1TB HDD drive during a clean install? Would the new OS support the existing apps and settings? I’m not sure. Hope you can assist. I also ran a test on Aida—GPU performance was stable. 2022-03-30.txt

Your initial log indicated the Nvidia GPU operated at up to 1845 MHz with a peak temperature of just 56°C. At 960 MHz performance, efficiency drops significantly. This suggests power constraints rather than thermal throttling. It seems the system is likely limiting power usage instead of overheating. You disabled GPU monitoring in your latest log, so I can't confirm the current behavior. The CPU consistently experiences power limits at around 45W, matching its TDP of 9750H. Running at this limit leads to steady thermal throttling. Improving cooling or slowing the CPU could help. Check if you adjusted core counts or voltage settings—those changes might lower power draw and temperatures. Solutions are possible, but resolving cooling is essential for long-term stability.

You can check the GPU BIOS updates on the manufacturer's official website or through their support portal. Some users also find forums or community sites helpful for sharing experiences and tips. If you're unsure, contacting customer service directly might give you the most accurate guidance.

Here are my logs from today's test: https://pastebin.com/k1UYJ5UB Compared to the run without ventilation (no GPU) https://pastebin.com/ggK8KUZ4 I lowered the CPU voltage and my GPU isn't reaching 60fps anymore. I didn't notice much difference in performance, but the ventilated version seemed more stable. The unvented test was right after I powered on and ran smoothly for about 10 minutes before dropping to 30-40 FPS, which is a big improvement. Sorry for missing any pictures.
