Hello. Yes, you can use a ram stick with a non-RGB heatsink and attach a Corsair Dominator Platinum with RGB. The RGB will work as long as the heatsink is compatible with your system.

It won't be like RGB fans that use a different cable for control; instead, there will be a dedicated controller managing the RGB lights and power supply for the LEDs.

Some RAM heatsinks include RGB components, but you can't simply swap a kit from one brand to another expecting the same performance. Adding external RGB doesn't guarantee better heat dissipation. For serious performance gains, especially with aggressive overclocking, it's better to upgrade from a kit like Dominator Platinums to a high-performance option such as Vengeance LPX. If you're aiming for aesthetics, consider purchasing a fully RGB RAM kit instead of modifying existing ones—it will likely work better and be more cost-effective.
