My Ryzen 7 5700X is overheating in open-world games like Rust and ARK, reaching up to 85℃. It seems the PC case might lack sufficient fans or the thermal paste is drying out. When I assembled the system, the thermal paste from my CPU fan was quite dry. The cooler used was a Thermalright Peerless Assassin MINI 66.87 CFM model.

Are you using default settings or did you turn on PBO to increase power limits? The cooler seems suitable for the standard 88W limit, but with PBO enabled the 5700X can reach over 125W, which may exceed what a single fan dual-tower can manage, particularly if the case ventilation is poor and you're not using air conditioning in warm weather.

I don't understand the meaning of that term. Could you provide more context?

Boost performance with AMD CPUs. Share more about your system setup. What type of case are you using? The thermal paste from the cooler felt quite dry—have you replaced it? Also, confirm whether the latest software fully covers the heat spreader.

It's essentially an AMD one-click overclocking tool. Activating it in the BIOS or Ryzen Master raises the CPU's stock power limits, allowing it to boost more aggressively. This typically leads to a slight performance increase while increasing power consumption. If you haven't adjusted anything, your processor should be operating at its default settings with an 88W power draw, which should fit within the cooler's capacity. Please share your case model and fan setup if you're unsure.

85C performs adequately and is typical for average configurations under stress.

You've achieved a new high score of 89 in Warhammer! That's impressive. Considering your single extra fan causing airflow issues, you might want to upgrade your case for better performance and cooling.

Understanding your specific issue will help determine if it's better to purchase a $5 fan or upgrade to a $50 case.

Purchase an inexpensive paste tube, reapply it, install a fan, and take off the side panel.
