Hi there, I understand your situation. The issue seems to be with your motherboard handling the new RAM configuration. You have a prebuilt system with 2x8GB, which is 16GB total, and you upgraded to 2x32GB (64GB) RAM. Now you're experiencing overheating and crashes when launching games like Destiny 2 or Code. It's frustrating since you can't find solutions online. Based on what you've shared, it looks like the BIOS settings might be causing the problem. You could try resetting the BIOS to default or checking for any firmware updates. If the temperature remains high, consider consulting a professional technician.

Do you really measure the temperature or are you assuming it's warm?

The reading shows 66°C and my graphics card is running below 70°C, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Super. I've already verified the temperature.

Ensure only one stick is used at a time. Your setup should work. It seems your stick might be damaged.

It's normal. The majority of computer parts are designed to handle temperatures as high as 90°C

It's only because I don't have much experience with computers, but it wasn't this hot before I increased the RAM.

It’s not just overheating; the system is likely failing because you’re adding a lot of RAM that isn’t being used. Stabilizing with fewer or older RAM parts would point to the issue.

In practice, adding more RAM can be wasted if your needs aren't high enough. For everyday tasks or gaming, it often doesn't make a big difference unless you're running demanding applications.

Originally there wasn’t enough, so an upgrade wouldn’t help.
