Headphone cable was snapped during a lapse in attention, and the connection was forcefully pulled. Since then, the system freezes with fans reaching full speed after roughly 15 to 30 minutes of gaming. This is the only testing I've done so far. I've attempted to mimic the accident conditions for verification. The unusual aspect is that temperatures on the CPU (5800X) and GPU (1080 Ti Strix OC) stayed below 72°C throughout my tests. I suspect a fault on the IO board in the case (Fractal Define R5) might have occurred from the pull, so I disconnected power and reset the switches for another round of testing—still faced the same problem. I also took out the USB 3.0 from the front panel, removed the entire case electronics from the loop, and it continued to black screen and ramp up to 100%. I cleared the CMOS and updated Windows, just in case. My conclusion is that a short on the power/reset switch or a bad signal to the PSU could be responsible. Alternatively, something might have damaged the motherboard. Interestingly, Discord chat remains active during the issue, and components feel cool to the touch. The PSU is an 850W Seasonic Titanium Mobo, paired with a B550 Taichi. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
