I'm not very experienced with PC gaming, but after setting up my rig a few months ago I've heard a static or hissing noise from my headphones. I use Corshair $30 headphones with a splitter plugged straight into my motherboard. Is this something I should worry about? And if yes, what could be done to fix it?

If the sound appears only when no other audio is playing, it may be typical for certain devices and connections. Try using the headphones on another system or a phone, without the splitter.
