Header for USB4 connection
Header for USB4 connection
I plan to purchase a case featuring a USB 3.x Type C connector on its front. As I intend to use this case for some time and upgrade later, I need to confirm if converting the Type-C port to USB4 is possible. Also, I want to verify whether the motherboard header will remain consistent. Is there any compatibility I should be aware of?
USB type C features one connector at a time, which means most existing setups use just one port. I haven’t encountered any with dual or triple ports yet.
I misunderstood your question earlier. You mentioned USB 3x Type C, but you thought it referred to 3 Type C connectors. The links provided can clarify this. Make sure the connectors are identical in size. If I were you, I’d choose a case with a separate cable for the USB Type C port instead of one that fits directly into a board. This way, differences could be swapped out easily.
