It seems you're trying to explain why you're unsure about the tool, despite hearing it from your father. He's being skeptical, but it's not a scam. You just need to stay calm and clarify your thoughts.

Windows 10 is sold for $100 per license by Microsoft. A reason this price seems attractive is that they purchase large quantities, which helps keep each unit inexpensive.

With an active student email account, you likely receive a complimentary Windows installation via your school or university.

Windows keys aren't tied to one country, and the price varies by location. You can find cheaper versions by purchasing keys from regions where Windows is sold at lower costs—often making it affordable for someone earning a monthly salary in those areas. You don’t have to buy a full license; it just updates with a watermark and some menus become grayed out over time.

I managed to obtain a Windows 7 Ultimate license along with Microsoft Office 2013 during my college years since it was essential at the time. (Office, not Windows)

These are frequently sourced from business clients. For example, my organization purchases between 3,500 to 10,000 computers at once, and after exceeding 35,000 units we receive them all marked with a unique Windows identifier. We then perform bulk imaging using our large-scale licensing program. This renders the original key largely untouched. Some individuals collect these items and list them on eBay. Microsoft treats these as pirated copies (which explains why eBay mandates physical labels on PC cases), though they remain fully operational and receive support from Microsoft. A common belief is that even Microsoft might not recognize where such keys originate. YMMV.

It's a fraud. Real keys would charge around $100 for the Home version 199 in the Pro edition.
