HDR videos appear more vivid when HDR is disabled in Windows 11.
I've experimented with VLC and also MPCHC alongside MadVR. It appears to be in black and white, especially dark when HDR is enabled. However, since it's HDR video on YouTube, I'm not sure if that's the issue. On my Windows 11 laptop with an AMD Ryzen 6900HX, it seems to work fine for local files but struggles with HDR content. What could be causing this?
Click the desktop, select AMD Software, and it will appear on the right side.
You're using Windows 11, but right-clicking the desktop doesn't work. Device Manager shows the AMD graphics driver as a version around 30. Make sure it's up to date or reinstall it.
That means you don't have driver 22.7.1, which is good since that has a bugged HDR. 22.7.1 has WDDM 3.1 so starts with 31, and also has a shortcut when you right click the desktop. My guess would be that they used a cheap screen with fake HDR...
It seems there might be an issue with the files. That's the only thing on my mind right now.
