I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I just built my first PC yesterday (the details are at the bottom of this post). Everything started normally when I turned it on and checked all fans and RGB, but the monitor showed no HDMI signal. When I connected it to a laptop, it worked perfectly, so the issue must be with the PC itself.

I double-checked all connections, unplugged and replugged everything, then turned it off and back on. Right now, I think the problem lies with my motherboard not having the correct BIOS version for the CPU. This usually shouldn't be an issue, but since I'm using integrated graphics, I checked the white sticker on the bottom right of my CPU cooler. It says my BIOS version. Could you please confirm if this matches? And if you don't think this is the main problem, what else might be causing it?

Thanks.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer! You didn’t mention the make and model of your PSU. Are Rams filling slots A2 and B2? Right now, I believe the issue might be because my motherboard lacks the appropriate BIOS version for the CPU. This usually shouldn’t be an issue, but I’m using integrated graphics. From what I read online, the white label on the bottom right of my CPU cooler indicates the BIOS version. Could someone please verify this?
https://pg.asrock.com/mb/AMD/B550 PG Velocita/index.asp#CPU
According to the CPU support list, your board should run BIOS version 3.20 or higher to work with a Ryzen 5 5500GT. What does the label on your CPU say?
Can you check if the production date is visible on the stickers or the packaging?
If you need to update the BIOS, you’ll likely need something like a 4300G—since all BIOS versions support this APU by default. Once updated, replace the 4300G with the 5500GT.

My PSU is a Thermaltake Smart 600W.
My RAM is in the 2nd and 4th slots next to the CPU.
Oops, I meant the Ryzen 5600gt, sorry.
The sticker says P2.40, but that doesn’t match the 5600gt.
I’m not sure where the date is, I checked for a while, but no one seems to know.
I bought a Ryzen 3 3400g which works with BIOS 2.00; I should have gotten the 4300 instead.
Also, I didn’t mention that there’s a small LED on the bottom right labeled d7—what does it mean?
Thank you!

I noticed a similar problem with someone else, which they attributed to the dual channel memory. I took out one stick of RAM, and now my monitor displays the BIOS date as 10/19/2022. It also includes this information:

So I just completed my new PC build after the HDMI connection worked properly. The screen displays this message.
Copyright © American Megatrends, Inc.
BIOS Date: 10/19/2022 18:30:22 Ver: 1AHQG240
New CPU installed, fTPM/PSP NV corrupted or fTPM/PSP NV structure changed.
Press Y to reset TPM; if BitLocker or encryption is active, the system won’t boot without a recovery key.
Press N to retain the previous TPM record and proceed with the boot. The TPM won’t activate on the new CPU, but you can revert to the old one to recover related keys and data.
What should I do?
My current CPU may not be compatible with that BIOS version.
Also, the LEDs on the bottom left of my motherboard show 98—what does that indicate?
Specs:
MoBo: ASRock Phantom Gaming B550 PG VELOCITA
CPU: Amd Ryzen 5 5600gt
GPU: Vega 7 integrated graphics
Ram: Corsair Vengeance LPX
Case: Zalman S2
PSU: Thermaltake Smart 600W
Thank you!

The fTPM stands for "Firmware Trusted Platform Module," which holds encryption keys within the chip. If you don't employ BitLocker, simply press Y to reinitialize the TPM and proceed with normal booting.

What should I do?
Press Y to proceed. It’s best to enter BIOS right away and update the BIOS settings to the newest version.
Power Supply Unit: Thermaltake Smart 600W
This PSU isn’t functioning properly—it’s not even recognized as a power supply unit.
Stick to one thread unless you’re prepared for chaos.

So I can still update the BIOS even though my CPU wasn't compatible until BIOS 3.60, while I have BIOS 2.40? Thanks for understanding, I'm just starting out with PC building and this is my first project.
Don't worry about it, I'm on a $500 budget. 😿

Trying to save money by getting a trash PSU is the worst thing you can do. It might end up costing you way more that what you saved. There is just one part of a built that you can't cheap out in any circumstances no matter your budget and it's the PSU. It's especially true if you are on a low budget actually, because if something fries because of a trash PSU you are not going to have the money to replace it.
