You need to uninstall the old OS from your old hard drive before installing Windows 10. Use the built-in tools or third-party utilities to remove it properly.
To make sure it’s fully removed, simply delete the partition. After deletion, rebuild and format the partition. For this process, I rely on AOMEI Partition Assistant (FREE). https://www.diskpart.com/free-partition-manager.html Remember to click the "APPLY" button at the top left. You’ll understand now. Good luck!
I suggest reducing the existing partition, creating a fresh one, transferring the necessary files to it, removing the old version, and expanding the new setup. You can accomplish this via Windows' built-in disk management (click the Start menu and select it). Isn't there a simpler way using the native tool?
You have a 2 TB HDD that's been running for several years. It's unclear if you still have important files. You're looking for a method to list all files, sort them by type, and process them one by one.
