HD audio on the front panel began functioning after a short period of assembling the PC.
Hello. My PC build is complete today. The front panel audio on my B660M-A Pro WiFi wasn't functioning properly—it didn't even register. It was linked to JAUD1 on the motherboard. I attempted everything: reconnected the cable multiple times, checked for driver problems, and confirmed the rear audio ports worked fine. Only the front panel case audio had issues. Eventually, I removed it and plugged it back in again, and it resolved. Since then, it's working well. However, I'm unsure if a poor connection was the cause. Could it be the cable connected to the front panel of my case, which is plugged into the JAUD1 pins on the motherboard? Is there a chance the cable itself has a manufacturing defect? Previously, I considered a faulty motherboard, but now that it's fixed temporarily, could the JAUD1 section still be problematic? The replacement policy is under three days, so sending it back might not be worth it unless it turns out to be faulty. Please share your thoughts.
It seems the problem might lie with the motherboard rather than the mobile device itself. You might have pushed the plug in slightly or there was some debris in the connector that disrupted the connection until you reinserted it a few times. The cord could also have a frayed section somewhere that got fixed on the last attempt. I’d suggest giving it another try but keep an eye on it to avoid further damage.
Hi. Yes, I tried unplugging and plugging the cable back in to check for issues, but this time there were no problems. It’s been almost 24 hours without any issues now. I’m starting to think it might not be a motherboard problem. The shopkeeper advised me to keep monitoring until Sunday. If it doesn’t fail again, I assume it was either a software glitch resolved by restarting or a faulty cable.
