I recently assembled a new PC about a month back, and it has experienced some unexpected problems. Any advice regarding BIOS configurations, overall system settings, or component choices would be very much appreciated. I’ve included photos of the chassis, motherboard, and examples of the issues I’m facing.

Case Link: https://www.corsair.com/us/en/p/pc-cases...gIPvfD_BwE
PC Link: https://rog.asus.com/us/motherboards/rog...ero-model/

Build Details:
- Case: Corsair iCUE 5000T RGB Tempered Glass Mid-Tower ATX
- PSU: AX1600i Digital ATX Power Supply – 1600 Watt Fully-Modular
- Motherboard: ROG Maximus Z790 Hero with WIFI
- GPU: Intel i9-13900K
- Graphics: NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX4090
- RAM: CORSAIR iCUE H150i ELITE LCD XT 120mm + 360mm Radiator
- Storage: DOMINATOR® PLATINUM RGB 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5 DRAM @ 6600MHz
- SSD: Crucial T700 2TB Gen5 NVMe M.2 (up to 12,400 MB/s, Direct Storage Enabled)
- CPU: AIO – Samsung 990 Pro PCIe 4.0 NVMe™ SSD (2TB)

I currently have the Crucial SSD in slot 2, which is locked there. The RAM is set at 6600MHz per Asus BIOS. I’m considering adding more drives but want to confirm compatibility.

Fans:
- 3 x LL120 RGB fans on balanced placement under AIO radiator
- 3 x AF120 RGB Elite PWM fans on balanced top of AIO radiator

Monitors: 60Hz (Dell 32 Curved 4K UHD Monitor – S3221QS)

Issues Encountered:
- Downloading CSGO2 and Apex on Steam caused random lag, graphics glitches, crashes, blue screens, or forced shutdowns.
- Need guidance on BIOS settings, system configuration, or component adjustments to resolve these problems.

Appreciate any help you can provide!

Silly question. But have you installed all MOBO and graphics drivers? Just can't see any mention of it in your post?

I attempted to configure what I thought could be done using information from the web. The drivers I currently have installed are: GPU – GeForce Game Ready Driver, version 545.84 (updating via GeForce Experience), MB – Armoury Crate for driver updates. It’s a bit unrelated, but I can’t use the audio ports on the MB or the single jack input on the case. Nothing appears when I connect them to their inputs. It might be missing some audio software needed for the MB setup. I can only use Windows BT settings and add/connect to BT devices there.

It's odd! You're wondering if this relates to driver problems. Armoury Crate is a third-party tool that assists with installing drivers. Removing all drivers and keeping only essential ones from the manufacturer's site is another common approach.

Armoury Crate is an ASUS program offering driver updates along with temperature, usage, and other details pulled straight from the ASUS motherboard. I considered removing my drivers and reinstalling them through ASUS, but haven’t changed much in the BIOS and didn’t want to get too deep into it.

I don't believe I should alter the BIOS since it doesn't seem to be the problem. I typically just take the ASUS out of the program files and x86 directories. From what you said, it looks like this might be a brand new PC setup, including Windows installation.

I started with a Windows 11 installation key and used the ASUS thumb drive that came with my motherboard. After that, I installed the standard software applications. I recall a technician once who adjusted the BIOS settings to set my DDR5 RAM to 6600MHz, which matches the rated speed—so that doesn’t seem like an issue. I’m not sure if XMP was enabled in the BIOS, but I’m not confident about it and didn’t change anything.

Armoury crate is an unnecessary add-on from Asus. I refer to it as a Day 0 vulnerability since it grants root privileges.

I just installed the MyASUS app which displays drivers, software, and tools for download. It appears to include both recent and older updates. My BIOS is currently 0816, but it seems newer versions like 1402 exist. I might consider updating my BIOS and checking for additional software that isn’t up to date.

armory crate?.. look for the newest drivers online. it isn't always fully current, but it has been refreshed recently. it used to be great for both RGB and fan settings, now it's more basic.
