Hi everyone, I recently put in a Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE CPU cooler on my AMD Ryzen 5 9600X with a Gigabyte B650 GAMING X AX V2 ATX AM5 board. It was my first experience using a third-party cooler with thermal paste. During installation, I followed the 5-dot method—placing one in the center, four at the corners, and making the central one slightly bigger. After putting it in, the cooler shifted a bit before settling into the bracket posts. Once secured, it stayed firmly in place without moving much. Now the system is running, and the CPU temperature on the BIOS screen reads around 32°C after enabling XMP/EXPO for my RAM. Does this confirm the cooler was installed properly?

The temperatures during operation and the ambient room conditions are clear. Most likely, the numbers are accurate. It's challenging to make a mistake.

The idle noise seems normal and okay for me.

The 32C idle performance is decent, running tasks should boost it further.

I tested Cinebench 2024 with a 10-minute test under throttling for CPU (multi-core) while tracking temperatures via HWiNFO. The peak temperature reached about 60°C. My score came in at 921 points. Likely my cooler is functioning properly.
