I built my PC from scratch using Ibuypower, which gives me flexibility for learning and upgrades. I have an 8-core i9-9900K processor and a 2080Ti FE graphics card. Someone more experienced told me the Asus Prime Z390P might not be compatible with my 9900K. Since I won’t be overclocking, I’m curious if the Z390P will work smoothly with the base 3.6GHz clock speed of the CPU and the 2080Ti. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Choosing 3.6GHz would be a mistake because it equates to accepting lower performance than necessary, which is acceptable only for basic operation.

This board is quite standard, so pushing the 9900K beyond its all-core turbo isn't recommended—it's already running at 4.7GHz.

Thanks for your feedback. At that time, I wasn’t very familiar with motherboards and ended up selecting a fairly restricted one. I’m fine with basic clock speeds as long as it lets me use the board I already have until I can afford something better.

It should function, though it's quite a simple board—something similar to a Z390 Prime-A might handle light to moderate overclocking, while the Prime-P is designed mainly for standard base speeds.

Also, I’m hoping you have a good cooler to match the 9900KF—otherwise you’ll face serious overheating issues. This CPU is notorious for generating heat, so proper cooling is essential.
