I'm setting up a media server using a Pentium G6400 and a Gigabyte H410M S2H board. According to the Intel specs, the G6400 supports 16 PCIe 3.0 lanes while the motherboard offers 16 slots, two 1x slots, and an M.2 2x slot. Currently you're using an NVMe SSD with two PCIe lanes, so there should be enough lanes left for a GPU in the 16x slot. Installing a 1050ti later shouldn't cause an issue if you plan to expand.

The chipset offers additional connections, enhancing the available pathways. These connections are directed toward the CPU, which is why graphics card lanes are routed there.

That was quick, thanks! I wasn't aware the chipset offers its own lanes.

Additionally, running out of lanes isn't a major concern. It mainly affects bandwidth, but the GTX 1050 Ti doesn't even approach saturating a PCIe 3.0 x8 connection.
