Have you purchased the incorrect power cable for your new GPU?
Purchased a 5070 and noticed the power cable didn't match Nvidia's updated 12vhpwr system. My four-year-old power supply was built before the change, and I didn't know the new connector's name. I found a Corsair 12-pin adapter and bought it immediately. After installing it, the GPU didn't appear in Device Manager or BIOS. Even after a clean Windows reinstall, it still wasn't showing. Now I'm unsure if the wrong cable caused the issue.
Can you identify the model from this picture? I'm not sure if it's possible based on what you showed.
Check the page for the cable you mentioned. You should use this link: https://www.corsair.com/us/en/p/pc-compo...cp-8920423
They don't know why the OP bought a cable just for appearance and didn't use the provided adapter.
I purchased the GPU that was upgraded by someone else, who removed the original packaging. I was concerned it might have been stolen, but it was still functioning properly in their system without any visible issues.
The description seems unclear about compatibility. It appears both cables are intended for Type 4, but it's not clear if a FE 3090 cable would work with another GPU. (Or did I overlook something?) Also, is this related to a PSU type 3 or 4? Edited February 5 by leclod
The 4000 and later models include sense pins, though I’m not sure if they’re essential.
The 3090 and some 3080 models featured a distinct 12-pin connector. The 40-series transitioned to 12VHPWR / 12V2x6, resulting in two separate connectors. The red one corresponds to the 3090, while the others use the updated design.
