Has anyone previously directly compared the image quality, clarity, and overall graphics details while running the same game on both NVIDIA and AMD GPUs?
I’m more interested in visual appearance than performance. I currently use an AMD card and value high visual fidelity — textures, lighting, sharpness, etc.
For instance, in a game like The Last of Us Part II Remastered, would there be any obvious variation in image quality or graphics between the two cards? Would I really see a difference when comparing them side by side?
Additionally, how does ray tracing perform across the two brands? Are there any clear visual discrepancies in games? Does everything look identical on both platforms?
I’ve looked through many sources (including YouTube), but haven’t found a detailed comparison that clearly highlights image quality differences.
I’m really curious if anyone has observed actual visual differences between AMD and NVIDIA when playing the same game with identical settings.

Nvidia is experiencing some issues lately, maybe a mid-life crisis, where their drivers are doubtful and their specs don’t quite match what they claim. Concerning the drivers, they might improve soon with an update, but AMD’s 9070XT is a better choice than the RTX5070Ti.
I’ve looked through a lot (including YouTube), but I couldn’t find a clear side-by-side comparison showing image quality differences.
You sure you checked all the options...?

Other than ray-tracing—which I don’t understand well—the main alternative would be choosing AI upscaling. NVIDIA’s DLSS is usually seen as better than FSR in that area, although I’ve heard that FSR 3 offers some enhancements over earlier versions.

Native resolution games are the top choice in my view, consistently delivering quality. You can observe this clearly when higher resolutions like 4k are used, as these games maintain proper scaling and ensure the overlay matches the intended size. Just to clarify, I haven’t noticed any noticeable differences between Nvidia and AMD before, but now that I’ve been using AMD for the past three GPU models, it’s different.
