I recently assembled new PCs for my sons. They include a Ryzen 7 5700X, a Radeon 7700 XT, 32GB DDR5 RAM, 2TB NVMe storage, and a Gigabyte G27F 27" 144Hz 1080p LCD (already owned). The operating system is Windows 11 Pro. These machines have only been operational for about a week now, so a clean installation of all components was performed. Both units are identical. One of my son's PCs occasionally displays a static image at the top followed by the regular desktop view or whatever windows are open underneath. It appears split horizontally, only occurring in the Windows desktop environment. This issue doesn’t affect the other PC, nor does it happen during gaming. He has been using this monitor for several years with his laptop without any problems, making it hard to pinpoint the cause. I’ve tested various HDMI and DP cables, reinstalled GPU drivers, and confirmed that resolution, refresh rate, and scaling are set to default 1080p at 144Hz in Windows. Any suggestions?
