Have you noticed high CPU usage?
Trying to diagnose why your rig feels unusually hot during idle. CPU temps are spiking around 74°C despite only 40% load. After testing ESO and some game downloads, Chrome crashed during a YouTube session. I found a potential cause in your build and looked for similar setups online. Let me know if you need more details or assistance.
They seem fine. You might consider a better thermal paste or enhance airflow, but with that cooler you should see the expected temperatures.
I've got three intake fans, one exhaust, and a Wraith on the CPU inside the Phantek 400a case, which gives good airflow. I'm not sure why the chrome crashed suddenly. The CPU was only around 14% in Task Manager, but the temperature was at 72 degrees. Probably not full load.
You can utilize cinabench to load your CPU, and core temp to track the temperatures
If you're starting with a brand-new Windows setup, it's okay. You don't need to reinstall Windows just because you update the BIOS.
The stock cooler isn't doing well... I upgraded mine (a wraith stealth from a 3600) to a DeepCool Gammaxx 400s — a $20 cooler that cut the temperature by 20 degrees during gameplay. Still, I haven't seen my browser crash like that while gaming. Odd. Also, try Ryzen Master for temperature readings; AMD mentioned it gives the most accurate data.
