I recently purchased an unopened Windows 10 installation DVD, but when trying to activate it, the system reported the activation key was already used on another device. I've reached out to both online and phone support for Microsoft, yet no assistance has been provided. The phone support tends to end the call without offering further help, instead refusing to connect a representative. I'm certain there are no remaining human resources outside the executive team.

I would reach out to the retailer instead of contacting Microsoft directly.

Wondering why you purchased the DVD unless you lack internet access or a functioning PC? Unopened DVDs are typically shrink-wrapped. We once owned one in college and don’t share the details... https://www.amazon.com/Hanchen-Cellophan...Cellophane

Do you know whether the key is for retail or OEM? The seller mentioned it was intended for retail use.

Ebay offers a product with nearly 1000 sales and a 97% positive rating. I favor having a physical copy when possible. It seems it was likely shrink-wrapped, but the factory seals and scratch-off remained intact. OEM packaging is still in good condition.

Yes, you can install Windows and then use a tool like ProduKey or a product key scanner to retrieve the key.

OEM keys are typically offered in bundles rather than sold independently. They are usually embedded within the firmware or applied as a label directly on the device, which makes them more affordable when purchased together with the hardware.
