Checking CS:GO performance on your setup is a good idea before purchasing. Your hardware includes a Core 2 Duo E4500 with 8GB RAM, an Asus R5 motherboard, and a 230W power supply. You're planning to upgrade soon, so it's wise not to joke about your current rig. The specs you shared match a high-end configuration, which should support smooth gameplay at 1680x1050 resolution.

Despite being a casual game, I question whether it will work well on your system, sorry.

GMod works well, around 60 frames per second with minimal settings.

It seems you're talking about hitting your limits with CS:GO on a 3500M rig, and it's even more challenging.

At that level of detail, likely not. The 720p settings should provide roughly 30 to 50 frames per second.

To enjoy CS:GO at its best, aim for around 250FPS to avoid input lag. I struggle when the frame rate drops below 230 because my performance outpaces the game’s demands and I take more shots than expected. For relaxed play, it might still be acceptable.
