I seldom connect to wifi, yet yesterday I attempted to link my new ROG Strix G17 to my old and reliable Netgear router. Unfortunately, I managed a connection, but it was extremely slow, except for Google, where nothing seemed to load. Now I’m puzzled about what caused this issue—the Netgear might be outdated, yet it has always performed well (I also noticed the Windows version mentioned a 144MB connection, so it should have worked). Could the Mediabank Wi-Fi module in the laptop be the problem? Or are there other factors at play?

You can always check the issue on another computer or a smartphone to see how the WiFi performs. If it functions well with the other device, the problem is likely with the laptop.
