I was planning to respond to any MMO ever. My first choice was Ragnarok Online, and advancing through higher levels felt like a long wait, especially before transcended classes appeared, which added another three times the time. Players were aiming for small daily XP goals, while death meant losing progress. Things have changed now... I'm currently in and out of FFXIV. They managed to reduce some of the repetitive tasks, but reaching the end of the base game feels like a long shot. To progress the story, I need to complete about a level and a half. Previously, there was more variety in quests and side missions to keep things interesting, so grinding wasn't as necessary. On other platforms, I tried free-to-play and paid mobile games. I really enjoy Love Live, but the events are too demanding for someone who can't or won't strictly manage their time around regeneration cycles or spend a lot of money to make it easier.
How many hours have you spent? I've been grinding leaderboards for years... How long do you think you are? Are you just around here?
