I was just thinking about a review of a flight stick and realized I used one for a 2D platformer back when—it was simpler than using the keyboard. I haven’t used it in years, as it ran on an outdated port, and I’m curious if others have tried it for non-flying games.

Sure, I'll count everyone who's ever played a game in an arcade or used claw machines. For PC games, the joystick was usually optional, and most input came from the mouse and keyboard!

I enjoyed playing Lego Racers back in the early 2000s and a few other mech-themed games.

It was the sole gaming platform I owned from around 1993 to 1997, which meant I spent a lot of time playing.

It was clear how the free-to-play game Hawken could be leveraged if someone truly wanted to.

I previously used a driving wheel in random games, though that was because my keyboard was mostly broken.

Back then I had this mix of joystick and keyboard setup... it didn’t have every keyboard key, but it had a good selection. I played Quake 2 with it for some reason.

I once played the original Doom and Wolfenstein 3D using a poor joystick. Later, I switched to a Thrustmaster Top Gun stick for TIE Fighter and really enjoyed it.
