Previously I moved from a 4060 to a 7800XT, believing it would be a solid upgrade for 1080p. But since the change, I've only experienced problems with Windows and games in general. The most bothersome issues were: AMD Adrenaline Software failing to open and becoming unresponsive even after restarts. Solution tried: I had to revert to an older Windows version, which temporarily fixed things but now the problem persists. Games are still functional, though. (See image below for reference) What worked? Changing the Anti Aliasing settings—such as TAA, FXAA or FidelityFX—removed the black screen temporarily, though it returned later. Another fix: After adjusting the Anti Aliasing option, the strange blackness vanished briefly before reappearing. I'm also seeing similar problems with other titles. For instance, in "No Many Sky," interactions now cause a complete black screen instead of blurred backgrounds. The game itself remains playable. What others are experiencing? Are these issues unique to my build or common with AMD and the 7000 Series? It frustrates me that despite investing heavily, I still face disruptions. Would appreciate your thoughts or any potential solutions. I’d prefer staying with AMD rather than spending another 150€ on a 4070. Even though it seems like a simple workaround, it’s not a reliable fix. Right now, I’m trying to keep my post updated with any new details (last updated 07/02/25 08:10). My setup includes: CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D GPU - XFX AMD Radeon 7800 XT RAM - 2x G.Skill Aegis DDR4-3200 16Gb Motherboard - MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX AM4 Hard Drive 1 - Seagate 1Tb Desktop HDD Hard Drive 2 - Silicon Power 1Tb SSD M.2

Have you attempted to utilize DDU, eliminating all previous Nvidia software and replacing it with AMD drivers?

Absolutely, 1000% DDU. If it fails, consider reverting to a previous AMD driver version.

Also, since your motherboard supports PCIe3, do you think that could cause a problem with @OddOod and @Hinjima? Also, @Heinz Ketchup, are your games saved on an M.2 drive or a hard drive?

This shouldn't cause any problems with PCIe 3.0.

I operate a 7900XT on PCIe3 and haven't encountered similar problems.

I've made all the updates and tested DDU several times. Everything and important software are installed on my M.2 drive. After switching to the new GPU, I formatted the computer and even reinstalled the older AMD driver. That resolved the problem with the application not opening, but other issues remain. I'm wondering if it's my motherboard—maybe it's outdated. I'm confused about why these problems still occur without any major changes. How can someone without technical knowledge fix these things? I'm really frustrated.

Consider testing the alternate BIOS on your card. Check if the issue stems from a strange behavior or if the overclocked version causes problems. Switching to the Quiet BIOS might resolve some issues, suggesting one of the two possibilities.
