Have you encountered a series of problems with your RAM?
2400 is a very quick DDR3 RAM. I’m not sure if XMP was available then, but it looks like it’s defaulting to 1333 MHz. You might need to adjust the memory multiplier to match what your system expects. I’m not completely confident, but it seems the system is using the standard 667 MHz for this setup. Task Manager shows 667, and Windows reports it correctly. The numbers can shift a bit, but they’re generally stable. You’ll probably need to look into optimizing your motherboard settings or checking the controller type. Your 8370 should support it, but it depends on the specific model and configuration.
I understand your concerns. It would be helpful to explore the RAM support for both the motherboard and CPU. I’m disappointed seeing only 1333 GB from four 2400 GB sticks, tsk tsk. Perhaps Linus will share an unexpected insight with a surprising solution.
To be honest... your CPU is quite slow, but that probably won’t really make a difference. Still, the best setup you have is great—congrats on taking the time to try and improve it!
It's a great idea for a more efficient system. I discovered yesterday that the CPU supports up to 1866MHz RAM, so I need to make sure it's optimized properly.
