Have you considered getting some guidance on assembling your new PC?
Hello everyone! I’m planning to assemble a new gaming PC and am evaluating an upgrade for improved performance. I’m also aiming for a visually appealing build, so matching component colours for the display are important. After some initial checks, I think the components fit well within the case and should work together. However, I’m unsure about any compatibility concerns or better alternatives. I’m still getting familiar with this process, so I might have overlooked something. Here’s the current list:
CPU - Ryzen 7 7800x3d
GPU - NVIDIA 4070 (MSI gaming x slim)
Motherboard - ASUS ROG STRIX b650
Case - NZXT H7 flow white
RAM - corsair vengeance white 32gb
Fans - 140mm be quiet! Light wings white (1500 rpm)
AIO - DeepCool LT720 white 360mm
SSD - 500GB Samsung 980 pro ( 6900/5000 )
HDD - 2TB Seagate barracuda (5400 rpm)
PSU - 850W Seasonic focus platinum
Any suggestions or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
A few thoughts: The H7 flow is strong, really needs such a large case? Maybe try the H6 flow instead? MSI offers 14 phase 70A VRM designs versus 12 phase and 60A in the Strix. Both support PCIe 5.0 SSDs. I’d recommend the MSI if it’s available. Reason for choosing the slim 4070? For the price, consider a 2b NVMe drive and a 2TB 7200rpm model if you need more space. SSD Benchmarks Hierarchy 2025: We’ve evaluated over 100 SSDs recently, and here’s the comparison. Ah, okay good to know! Will look into the H6
Motherboard suggestion is helpful too, would there be a major performance difference between the two?
for the drive, I had heard of faster ones (eg: 7200rpm) heating up more quickly and having a shorter lifespan, not sure if that actually holds true though.
Thanks for the suggestions!
