So I just switched from a pair of 5 year old Sennheiser G4me Zero headphones. They’ve been really good—mic quality is solid, the sound is great, and the comfort is amazing. I thought upgrading to something new and more stylish would be a good idea, since the Sennheiser pillows are starting to fail. I ended up buying a pair of Steelseries Arctis Pro wireless headphones because I heard so much positive about them. When I got them, I was a bit disappointed with the sound—it felt like a lot of audio disappeared. They’re a bit too small for my head, and I miss the Sennheiser experience with them. I like their look and the microphone isn’t terrible. The wireless feature was a big reason for choosing them, but I still get that annoying background noise—white buzz or something. Should I go for a new pair of Sennheiser or just adapt to the Steelseries?

After testing Sennheiser and other headphones like studio-grade KOSS, I chose Beyerdynamic. They offer superior sound, comfort, and longevity. Their gaming headsets cost between $165 and $280, but they don’t include wireless options. I don’t experience background noise issues with my DT 770 Pro 80 Ohm headphones. Similar problems can arise with wireless devices and interference. Beyerdynamic emphasizes sound quality, comfort, and durability. They focus more on essential features rather than advanced technology. However, some brands like Logitech provide compatibility with Embody’s Immerse software, which maps your ear shape through a...

However, some brands like Logitech provide compatibility with Embody’s Immerse software. This advanced tool uses a phone camera to map your ear shape and customize audio perfectly. It also includes useful adjustable settings for tracking footsteps in games. Immerse offers a free trial for two weeks, costing $15 per year or $40 over seven years.

Thanks for the tips! I just got a pair of MMX 300 v2 and also picked up a microphone. I'm really happy with the purchase—they were a bit stiff at first, but I know it's just for testing and they'll be more comfortable. The sound is incredible, with perfect bass and a great fit on my ears, like pillows. I returned the Arctis Pro and plan to stick with the Beyerdynamic!

Give them a bit more time for the transducers and ear cushions to settle in. They might sound even better afterward. A suggestion for the ear cushions: they will gradually become softer over time, and the upper part may slightly flatten due to your head shape. Luckily, the ear cups are mostly rounded, making it easy to rotate them 180 degrees when needed. It’s a good idea to check every six months or so once they feel comfortable and soft, ensuring they keep their shape where it matters most—where your ear sticks out the most.
