Hi all,
Here are the PC specifications:
CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 3600x 6-Core
MotherB- B450 Tomahawk Max
RAM : 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4
GPU - GeForce GTX 1060 3GB
šŸ™
PSU - CORSAIR 350W VS SERIESā„¢ VS-350 POWER SUPPLY
I’m planning to upgrade the GPU and was considering a RTX3060, which means I’ll also need to replace the PSU with something higher capacity. Would that work, given the CPU is AMD and the 3600x model?
Before making any changes, I’d like to confirm if this is the most efficient and cost-effective upgrade path, and if you have any tips or advice.
Feel free to share more details whenever you’re ready.
Thanks!

A 3060 would work, but focus on improving quality rather than just increasing power output. A Corsair VS is a simple, budget PSU that isn't ideal for a high-end GPU, even with the theoretical capacity.

Reviewing the MSI MPG A750GF on Amazon appears to offer good value. This setup should be compatible with your needs.

Consider the RTX 3060, RTX 4060 or AMD RX 7600.
Choose one of these power supplies.

Considering alternatives to the Ryzen 5600, shifting directly to the Ryzen 7600 could be beneficial.

The 7600 would require a new motherboard and DDR5 memory. Choosing a 5600/x/3d and a more recent graphics card would work well with your existing setup. The Tomahawk Max is a suitable motherboard.

What is your budget for these upgrades? I recently upgraded a similar system with a 750W PSU, then the RX 6750 XT GPU, and finally the Ryzen 5 5600 CPU. I started with 32GB RAM and would strongly suggest including that in your plan. Good luck!

My method for tackling this ongoing issue:
Certain titles rely heavily on graphics capabilities, while others depend more on CPU performance. Multiplayer usually favors games with numerous threads.
You must determine which one suits you best.

the 5600X3D from microcenter offers excellent value for money as a CPU upgrade. You might find some solid PSU recommendations from @Why_Me above. I’d consider the 3060ti if it’s available. The Intel Arc A770 could also be a worthwhile purchase. Check the benchmarks for your preferred games and decide accordingly. If you need both CPU and GPU upgrades, look into second-hand options, which would be more affordable.
