I previously acquired my PC from a friend who mentioned using a hardware ID spoofer. After he removed the device, updates failed to install properly. I’m facing a challenge because I’m certain a simple solution exists—reinstalling Windows—but I’m careful not to reset everything I’ve already set up. I’ve explored various fixes and consulted online resources, but nothing resolves the issue with the Current Version information. The Windows update troubleshooter still triggers the “Undoing Changes” process even after changing the BITS service to automatic. If anyone could assist without a full reinstall, I’d really appreciate it.

You completed everything correctly and have restarted the computer to check for updates.

I’m going to test some solutions and consider reinstalling as a backup plan. My goal is to document a fix for this problem, helping others who face the same issue. I updated my PC using the Windows Upgrade Assistant, and it worked fine.
