Have there been any updates about RDR2 functioning on Windows 11?
I'm trying to get RDR2 to work on my new laptop with Windows 11. When I click launch, it takes around 30 seconds for a window to appear. It's a small black window that constantly closes and then the Rockstar launcher quits before resuming play. I've reached out to Rockstar support, but they almost damaged my laptop during a clean boot. Anyone have any solutions?
Make sure to try a clean boot, turning off and closing any non-standard applications—things that show FPS, temperatures, or usage. Generally, anything not included with standard Windows should be disabled.
I would confirm that your firewall isn't obstructing any high-performance applications such as social club services.
It's hard to believe what happened. Yesterday night I tried to install RDR2 to fix it for today. After resetting my computer from factory settings following a support problem, I opened launch and saw a big black screen with writing and the Rockstar logo. I adjusted the settings and ran a benchmark – everything was running at 4k ultra with an average of 62fps. Thanks for the assistance, but it worked on its own.
Alright, the update time is now. I arrived home around 30 minutes ago and launched RDR2. The button for story mode on the title screen was grayed out and not clickable. After closing the app, I restarted it but it crashed to a small black screen. I've attempted a clean boot and disabled both antivirus and firewall, yet it still fails to start. I'm at my wit's end now.
From the Rockstar games launcher. Other titles function properly
