Third-party updates are common these days. When discussing "Windows 9.5," I recalled some third-party options. I read about a dark Windows 10 setup in a How-To Geek piece. I’m using UXStyle, and my challenge is finding a theme that’s safe. I tried a theme I liked: the DevianArt link (DeviantArt is secure). The download was a zip file with a link to get it on my site. I visited it, downloaded it via MediaFire, and it worked without issues. They suggested a Chrome extension, but I’m cautious about sites that require extra steps. Since I have NoScript enabled, I removed the file after download for safety. I restored from a backup beforehand. Should I avoid themes that can’t be downloaded directly? The cyan theme was what I wanted.

By the way, just to clarify: I’m not aiming to develop Windows 9.5.

I've faced issues with those desktop themes before; downloading and setting them up can be frustrating. Right now I stick with Penumbra 10 for Windows 10—it really works smoothly, especially when the ribbon UI is turned off. It seems there might be a problem with the Task Manager, though I'm not sure if it's just my experience or something more widespread. The windows sometimes appear white instead of gray.

Consider skipping all Cleodesktop themes unless you need them from sources beyond DeviantArt.

Cleo handles the same download process across all sites, not just DeviantArt. I’d steer clear whenever possible. Or perhaps set up the software on a different machine you don’t mind using? That way, if you encounter malware from those tricky downloads, you can simply reinstall Windows.

I’d prefer avoiding a specific theme. I’m exploring various options on DeviantArt and finding many appealing designs, though each has a drawback that affects my experience.
