He PC began showing a strong DRAM LED during startup and there was no video output. He had been experiencing frequent power-saving behavior recently, which would require a restart to restore display functionality. After replacing both RAM modules and testing a single stick, the issue persisted. Using a different RAM stick from another machine resolved the problem. When I installed his RAM in one of the non-optimized slots (black), it worked. Eventually, trying a stick in the first optimized slot (red) restored the DRAM light. It seems only one 8GB stick is being detected, suggesting slots 2–4 might be faulty. This could indicate a failure in those slots rather than the RAM itself. Given he’s been using the same hardware for months without issues, it may point to a slot problem. You might want to consider replacing the affected slots or upgrading to a compatible motherboard like B550.
I've changed the RAM placement several times and experimented with different slots, but I haven't touched the CPU yet. Still worth a try, I think.
