Your budget is $1200. You're looking at notebooks ranging from 15 to 17 sizes. The desired screen resolution is 1080p. You're unsure whether you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop, as I’m not sure how much difference there is between the two.

You require a battery life that allows you to use the device continuously without needing frequent charges. You’d like to play games on your laptop and would prefer the settings for those games to be set to high performance. Currently, the one you own runs on low settings, which causes lag.

You don’t plan to use the laptop for other tasks such as photo or video editing. You only need a laptop for playing Sims 4 and want it to support CC and mods with high settings.

For storage, you need at least 1 terabyte. If you’re thinking about purchasing from specific stores, please share their links—Dell, Best Buy, Amazon are open to suggestions.

You intend to keep the laptop for about 2 to 3 years. Regarding the optical drive, you prefer options like DVD ROM/Writer or Blu-ray ROM/Writer; I download games from the source but own a portable DVD player for physical discs.

In terms of brands, you’re open to any, but you have used Dell and HP in the past. You’d like reasons for your preferences.

You live in the United States. If you have any more details, let me know. I especially want a laptop that can handle lots of CC and stays cool without overheating.

An Asus TUF F15 should be good, even if it comes with 512gb of nvme ssd, there is still slot to upgrade the ssd

Hello everyone. I also require a replacement laptop. Could you inform me of the necessary specifications so it functions correctly? My current device is malfunctioning, especially when using several browsers simultaneously, which causes slow performance or crashes entirely.

It seems you're looking for a different perspective on the laptop recommendation. The Asus TUF F15 might be suitable, but a more robust option could be better.
