I recently installed a new modem and connected it to my old router (Asus AC3100). The modem functions properly, providing internet access, but the router is causing problems. When I link the modem to the router and restart the router, the WAN light changes color to pink—not blue, not white, nor red. No wireless connections work. I connected my laptop via Ethernet to the router and attempted to access its GUI, but couldn’t find any login options. I tried the default IP address 192.168.1.1 without success. After a thorough reset, the issue persists. Some users reported resolving it with updated firmware, but I’m stuck without access to the interface. I’ve been troubleshooting for three days and need guidance. Thank you for your help.

No, I haven't tested that method yet.

I’d attempt to reach the firmware without linking your modem. Check the current firmware version, then use your phone or computer to install the newest one. After that, connect straight to the router and apply the updates. If nothing appears, perform a factory reset.

The only concern that seems simple to resolve is a network conflict. Verify if the modem is transmitting the 192.168.0.0 network and, when disconnected from the modem, the router operates on the 192.168.1.0 network. Reconnect the router and observe its behavior. Assume the router should identify the WAN interface and broadcast a distinct Class C network (typically in ascending order such as 192.168.0.0, 1.0, 2.0, etc.). If this doesn't function properly, ensure the networks differ between LAN and WAN interfaces. Identical networks on both interfaces prevent any functionality.
