Have issues with Sonic Generations on your PC? Here’s what you can try.
Hi everyone. I had a Switch Pro controller linked to my computer, but one day Sonic Generations started changing most of my button inputs randomly, while leaving others unchanged. I tried Proconxinput, which mimics the controller on a X360 device, but after installation my setup stopped working entirely.
I followed the YouTube installation instructions carefully, and my computer became unstable to the point that keyboard commands failed completely. Once I removed it, I bought an Xbox controller from Micro Center and used it for two days without any issues—except for slow performance and occasional lag. Until recently, the same random input problem appeared again after a brief screen delay, making it hard to control Sonic until I paused and resumed the game.
I searched online for others facing the same issue and found someone suggesting I disable Steam input for that game. I tried that before testing the game, but the problem returned when the screen lagged unexpectedly. I was told by users to rely on Steam’s built-in drivers and settings, wondering if my approach had been incorrect.
If changing settings helped, I wouldn’t be exploring all these alternatives. I’ve shared my experience in every forum and chat room I can reach, but no one has solved the issue. What solutions do you have for fixing this problem?
