You're setting up a modern system with a 10900k CPU, Corsair AIO 120mm cooler, Windows 11, and an MSI Z590 Pro motherboard. It's been a while since you checked temperatures, but lately your CPU has been overheating during games. You noticed it was pulling around 170 watts in HWMonitor, which is high for the past, but now it hits 100°C right away. You tried lowering the clock speed to 4.4GHz and applying a 0.7 undervolt, but the CPU still runs at 4.9GHz. You're unsure how to resolve this issue. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The 120mm AIO seems quite fragile, though it worked before; otherwise the pump might be faulty.

I thought similarly but then checked hwmonitor and noticed its drawing around 130 watts at idle, which exceeds its TDP. If something went wrong, it could cause overheating but would still have very low power consumption.

Activate the Task Manager to check the processes running on your system. Idle power usage should remain below one or two digits.

I meant that nothing apps or games are running. The task manager displays full CPU usage at 100%, while other programs use about 10%. In the task manager, the utilization changes between different applications, sometimes showing one task as using 80% and then switching to another random one.

It looks like you're pretty sure you have a virus. Even Windows uses minimal CPU when idle, so I'd create a bootable Linux drive, start it, and check temperatures with tools like Btop. This helps determine if the problem is software-related or hardware issues.

I thought the same, but why are hwmonitor and other programs displaying low usage? Also, I’m currently preparing backups of my personal data. I plan to perform a fresh Windows 10 installation to check if that resolves the issue, and I really miss it.
